PCB bans Corbin Bosch for breaking his contract with the Pakistan Super League (PSL). He left PSL 2025 to join the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Mumbai Indians. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) called it a serious contract violation.
Corbin Bosch is a 30-year-old all-rounder from South Africa. Peshawar Zalmi picked him in the Diamond category during the PSL 10 Draft held in January. But after the draft, Bosch accepted an offer from Mumbai Indians. He replaced injured fast bowler Lizaad Williams.
His decision came at a bad time. The PSL draft was scheduled after the IPL auction to avoid such issues. Even with that in place, Bosch still left. PCB bans Corbin Bosch to send a clear message about honoring contracts. They also fined him, but the details of the fine are kept confidential due to a non-disclosure agreement.
Bosch shared an apology through a PCB statement. He said, “I deeply regret my decision to withdraw from the HBL Pakistan Super League and offer my sincere apologies to the people of Pakistan, the fans of Peshawar Zalmi, and the wider cricket community. To the loyal fans of Peshawar Zalmi, I am truly sorry for letting you down. I take full responsibility for my actions, and accept the consequences, including the penalty fine and the one-year ban from the PSL. This has been a hard lesson, but I am committed to learning from this experience, and hope to return to the PSL in the future with renewed dedication and the trust of the fans.”
The PCB bans Corbin Bosch not just for this single case but to protect the league’s integrity overall. Officials say it’s important for players to stick to their signed deals. This becomes even more important when leagues like the PSL and IPL run during the same period.
Bosch is still new in international cricket. He made his ODI debut for South Africa in December 2024. So far, he has played one Test and two ODIs. He also helped MI Cape Town win the SA20 2025 title with strong all-round performances under Rashid Khan’s captaincy.
The 10th season of the Pakistan Super League starts on April 11. Defending champions Islamabad United will face Lahore Qalandars in the opening match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The event will continue until May 18. A total of 34 matches will be played across Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, and Multan.
