The Dubai number plate sale made headlines as the prestigious DD5 plate sold for an astonishing Dh35 million. This happened at the Most Noble Number auction in Dubai on Saturday evening.
Bidding War for DD5
The bidding started at Dh15 million and quickly became intense. More than 20 bidders competed for the exclusive plate. In the end, Muhammad BinGhatti, Chairman of Binghatti Holding, won the bid using panel number 7. The host declared with excitement, “This is the legend, this is the man.”
Youngest Bidder Joins the Auction
One of the most remarkable moments of the event was 13-year-old Abdulkader Walid Asaad placing bids. Although he didn’t win the DD5 plate, he successfully acquired DD24 for Dh6.3 million. His participation showed how exclusive number plates attract interest from all ages.
Charity Event for a Noble Cause
The Most Noble Number auction is held annually during Ramadan. It supports the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI). This year’s event took place at the Armani Dubai Hotel in Burj Khalifa. The auction featured 25 exclusive mobile and vehicle number plates.
A Record-Breaking Night
By the end of the evening, the auction had raised an impressive Dh83,677,000. This money will go towards various charitable projects. The high-value bids highlighted Dubai’s culture of philanthropy and luxury.
