Leading Pakistan’s Digital Future

Aamir Ibrahim has been awarded with the highest civilian award in Pakistan, Hilal-e-Imtiaz, for his contributions to Pakistan’s digital and financial sectors. As CEO of Jazz and Chairman of Mobilink Bank, he has led projects that promote financial inclusion and digital empowerment. The President of Pakistan honored him for transforming telecom, fintech, and digital literacy.

His impact goes beyond internet access. Through JazzCash, Pakistan’s largest digital wallet, he has helped millions access financial services. With over 48 million registered users, JazzCash enables cashless transactions. It empowers small businesses, youth, and women, giving them financial independence.

Making Digital Access Affordable

Aamir works to make technology available to more people. He introduced Digit 4G handsets, allowing low-income users to own smartphones. His digital literacy programs help people learn essential online skills, strengthening Pakistan’s digital economy.

He also focuses on gender inclusion. As part of the Women in the Digital Economy Fund (WiDEF) Advisory Council, he helps more women access digital tools and financial services. Mobilink Bank’s WIN (Women Inspirational Network) program supports female entrepreneurs with funding and training.

Driving Innovation and Growth

Aamir has helped Pakistan move forward in technology. He played a key role in launching Pakistan’s first 5G Innovation Lab at NUST Islamabad. This lab fosters research in emerging technologies and ensures women’s participation in tech.

Beyond telecom, he has led efforts in national crises. During COVID-19 and the 2022 floods, he helped raise over PKR 1 billion for relief efforts. He also supports education as a NUST Board of Governors member, building links between industry and academia.

Aamir Ibrahim’s Statement on the Honor

Upon receiving the Hilal-e-Imtiaz, he shared his thoughts:

“Receiving this honour on Pakistan Day fills my heart with immense pride. It is recognition of the role that digital technology and financial inclusion can play in enabling the people of Pakistan—regardless of where they live or who they are.
