The Establishment Division issued an official notice stating that all federal government offices will stay closed on May 28. Following this, the Sindh government also confirmed a public holiday across the province. All government departments, schools, colleges, and private institutions will remain shut in observance of the day.

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) joined the announcement by declaring a holiday for all banks and financial institutions. This includes commercial banks, microfinance banks, and development finance institutions. In addition, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) will stay closed, and no trading will take place on the day.

The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) also rescheduled several exams due to the holiday. The Botany Paper I, which was set for May 28 from 9 am to 11 am, will now be held on May 30 at the same time. The English (Normal) Paper I and English Advanced Paper I (for failed students) will now take place from 3 pm to 6 pm on the same day. BIEK has confirmed there will be no change in examination centers.

Youm-e-Takbeer 2025 celebrates the anniversary of Pakistan’s nuclear tests conducted at the Ras Koh Hills in Chagai, Balochistan, on May 28, 1998. These tests came after India conducted its own nuclear trials. In response, Pakistan took a bold step to ensure its security and regional balance.
