Tourism Fee Introduced KP

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has started charging a tourism fee at some of its top tourist destinations. These include Naran, Kaghan Valley, and Lake Saif-ul-Malook. Visitors must now pay an entry fee before they can explore these beautiful areas.

Where the Fee Applies

According to government documents, no visitor will be allowed into Kaghan Valley without paying the fee. A checkpoint has been set up in Husamabad to collect these charges. This applies to all tourists, whether they are traveling by car, bus, or motorcycle.

Different Fees for Different Vehicles

The fee varies by transport type:

  • PKR 200 per person for tourists in buses

  • PKR 100 per person for tourists in cars

  • PKR 20 per person for those on motorcycles

However, the local residents will be exempt. They can travel freely without paying any charges.

Why This Fee is Introduced

There are three main reasons behind this new system:

  1. To help maintain the natural beauty of these places

  2. To control overcrowding during tourist seasons

  3. To generate funds for development and cleanliness

Impact on Tourism

This fee may reduce the number of careless tourists. It may also encourage responsible tourism. More funds could mean better waste management, cleaner roads, and safer tourist spots.

  • Respect local rules and nature

Is This the Right Move?

Many locals and tourists have mixed feelings. Some say it will help preserve the environment. Others feel it adds an extra burden. But if used properly, this system could improve tourism in KP for the long term.
