The Sindh Government, in collaboration with China's Yutong, is taking a significant step to set up a bus assembly plant in Karachi. This initiative aims to boost industrial growth, create employment opportunities, and modernize the transportation infrastructure in the region.

Modernizing Sindh’s Transportation Infrastructure

To enhance Sindh’s transportation network, the government plans to introduce an electric vehicle (EV) cab scheme. The plan also includes importing 100 buses to address immediate public transportation needs. These initiatives are designed to modernize transportation. They also aim to mitigate environmental concerns through reduced carbon emissions.

Economic Development Initiatives Across Sindh

Under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework, the Sindh Government is accelerating economic activities throughout the province. A flagship construction project in Karachi aims to attract foreign investors. It also focuses on overseas Pakistanis. Discussions with Chinese investors have centered on the Dhabajee Special Economic Zone, a critical component of the CPEC initiative.

Showcasing Innovation at the Build Asia Exhibition

The 18th Build Asia Exhibition at the Karachi Expo Center demonstrated Sindh’s commitment to innovation. This prestigious event featured over 35,000 visitors and exhibitors from 10 countries. It showcased advancements in industries such as aluminum, cement, and marble. The exhibition’s focus on sustainability highlighted eco-friendly solutions to industrial challenges.

The Build Asia event also hosted seminars on emerging trends in Proptech, Smartech, and real estate investment. These sessions delved into opportunities in tourism, hospitality, and regional development. They provided valuable insights for stakeholders.
