A Gold Medal for Biology
Abdul Raffay Paracha, a student of Siddique Public School, won Pakistan’s first gold medal. He earned this honor at the 35th International Biology Olympiad (IBO), which was held in the Philippines. Competing with students from around the world, he showed outstanding knowledge and skill.
Bronze Medal in Physics
Meanwhile, Daniyal Shahzad Hamid, from The Science School in Rawat, brought home a bronze medal. He represented Pakistan at the 55th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) in France. His success added another proud moment for the country.
STEM Careers Programme Behind the Success
These achievements were made possible by the STEM Careers Programme. This initiative is led by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) in partnership with the Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS). It supports talented science and math students from across Pakistan.
With expert training and guidance at PIEAS, students gain the confidence to compete internationally. Mentorship played a big role in their success.
