Saudi Arabia Launches Ramadan

Saudi Arabia has launched the Ramadan Iftar and Dates Distribution Program in Pakistan to help thousands of people in need during Ramadan 2025. The initiative, also known as the King Salman Food Distribution Program, aims to provide food aid across the country.

70,000 People to Receive Ramadan Food Aid in Pakistan

The program was officially launched in Islamabad by Pakistan’s Religious Affairs Minister, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, and Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki. It highlights the strong ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and their shared commitment to humanitarian efforts.

Under this initiative:

  • 40,000 people will receive 20 tons of dates.
  • 30,000 people will get Iftar meals.

The distribution will take place across all provinces. The goal is to reach as many deserving people as possible, ensuring they have nutritious meals to break their fast.

Saudi Arabia’s Support for Poor Families During Ramadan

At the launch event, Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki said the program will support poor families, widows, and orphans. He emphasized that these efforts aim to bring relief to those struggling financially.

The Ramadan Iftar and Dates Distribution Program in Pakistan reflects Saudi Arabia’s dedication to charity and humanitarian aid. It also strengthens the close relationship between both nations.

Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Relations and Continued Support

Saudi Arabia and Pakistan share a long-standing bond. The Kingdom hosts over 2.7 million Pakistani expatriates, making it the top destination for remittances. Over the years, Saudi Arabia has consistently supported Pakistan through humanitarian, religious, and economic initiatives.

As part of its ongoing assistance, Saudi Arabia recently gifted 100 tons of dates to Pakistan ahead of Ramadan. The consignment was handed over by Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki and Abdullah Al-Baqami, director of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid & Relief Center (KSrelief). The event took place at the Saudi Embassy in Islamabad.

This initiative further strengthens the Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relationship and reinforces their shared values of compassion and generosity.
