Rain Forecast Offers Some Respite Amidst Relentless Heatwave

The rain forecast in Pakistan brings much-needed relief after days of intense heat. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted dust storms, gusty winds, and rain from June 13 to 16. This change is expected across the northern and central parts of the country.
Moist air is entering the upper regions. A westerly wave will also move into these areas by June 13. Due to this system, many regions will see scattered rain, thunder, and in some places, hailstorms. Weather experts expect these changes to ease the severe heatwave.
Several areas will experience this shift. These include Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Murree, Chitral, Swat, Malakand, and Abbottabad. Rain is also likely in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad, and many other districts in Punjab. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa regions such as Peshawar, Swabi, Nowshera, and Charsadda are also included.
The rain forecast in Pakistan brings hope, but the heat still remains in many areas. Noorpur Thal reached 48.5°C, making it one of the hottest places in Punjab. Bhakkar, Hafizabad, and Gujranwala also saw highs near 48°C. Lahore and Faisalabad recorded 46°C.
Due to these harsh conditions, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued alerts. They’ve asked local administrations to prepare for both high heat and possible weather disruptions.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) also released an advisory. It urged people to take care and stay updated through the NDMA app. While some regions will get rain, others will stay dry and hot. Parts of Sindh and Balochistan are expected to remain under heat stress.
Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir will mostly stay warm. Still, places like Skardu, Hunza, Astore, and Neelum Valley may get light rain from June 13 to 16.
With the rain forecast in Pakistan becoming more certain, authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and urge citizens to remain cautious.
