The Africa-1 submarine cable is a game-changer for internet users. It is part of a 10,000-kilometer-long system connecting multiple regions, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Algeria, France, Kenya, and Djibouti. PTCL, as a member of the global consortium, has played a key role in bringing this advanced system to Pakistan.

Supporting Digital Vision 2030

The Africa-1 submarine cable aligns with the government’s Digital Vision 2030. This initiative aims to expand digital access and ensure modern technology reaches everyone.

PTCL’s Group VP of International Business, Syed Muhammad Shoaib, emphasized the importance of this cable. He stated that the project will empower communities, enhance digital infrastructure, and position Pakistan as a strong player in the global digital economy.

Expanding Pakistan’s Broadband Capacity

The arrival of Africa-1 comes shortly after Africa-2, which also landed in Karachi. With this addition, Pakistan’s broadband capacity has increased significantly.
