Pakistan Moves Toward Digital Currency Regulation Amid Economic Reforms

Boosting the IT Sector and Digital Economy
Shehbaz Sharif also focused on modernizing Pakistan’s IT sector. He announced plans to establish green data centers and improve telecommunication services. Expanding internet access will support freelancers and boost IT exports. Pakistan’s digital economy has huge potential, and the government is working to strengthen its infrastructure.
Crackdown on Smuggling and Business Reforms
The government’s crackdown on smuggling has also helped exports. Reforms in tax policies and business regulations have improved operations in key industries. Recent measures have made it easier for businesses to grow, leading to higher production.
The meeting included top business leaders and government officials. Notable attendees were Jahangir Khan Tareen, Saqib Shirazi, Shehzad Saleem, and Musaddiq Zulkarnain. Federal ministers Ahsan Iqbal, Rana Tanveer Hussain, and Mohammad Aurangzeb also participated.
Strengthening Ties with Bahrain
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met a Bahraini delegation led by Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam. He invited Bahraini investors to explore opportunities in Pakistan. He also conveyed best wishes to Bahrain’s King, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to strong diplomatic and economic relations.
