During his visit to South Waziristan, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir reaffirmed the military’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism. He emphasized that all perpetrators, including facilitators and financiers, will face justice.
Honoring the Sacrifices of Martyrs
A recent terrorist attack on a South Waziristan check-post claimed the lives of 16 brave soldiers who heroically thwarted a major threat. Their sacrifices, which resulted in the neutralization of eight terrorists, symbolize the Army’s resolute stand against terrorism.
At their solemn burial ceremonies, family members, senior military officials, and local dignitaries gathered to honor the martyrs.
The sacrifices of martyrs will never be forgotten. Their bravery is the pride of Pakistan.

While interacting with troops in Wana, General Asim Munir highlighted the Army’s steadfast resolve to eliminate terrorism and extremism.
The Pakistan Army, alongside law enforcement agencies, will continue operations to ensure lasting peace and stability across the nation.
The COAS referred to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as “Fitna al Khwarij,” underscoring the Army’s commitment to eradicating terrorist networks and their enablers.

During his visit, General Munir received a detailed security briefing and praised the resilience of the armed forces.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the terrorist attack in South Waziristan. Both leaders praised the Army’s swift response and reaffirmed their commitment to fighting terrorism to ensure peace and stability in Pakistan.
The President described the sacrifices of the soldiers as “beacons of light for the nation,” while the Prime Minister prayed for the martyrs and offered condolences to their families.
