PIA Announces Direct Lahore-Paris Flight Operation Starting June 18

Lahore-Paris flight

The Lahore-Paris flight will begin on June 18, making travel to Europe easier for people in Pakistan. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will offer this new route once a week. It is a direct flight with no stopovers, helping travelers reach Paris faster and more comfortably.

PIA already runs two weekly flights from Islamabad to Paris. The Lahore-Paris flight adds more options for passengers, especially those living in Lahore. This new service also supports PIA’s plan to grow its international network and bring in more foreign exchange for the country.

A spokesperson for PIA said that the new flight will run every week. It will work alongside the existing routes. This is part of PIA’s effort to restore international routes and connect more destinations.

Earlier in the year, PIA restarted flights to the European Union after a break of over four years. The first flight, PK-749, went from Islamabad to Paris. It carried 330 passengers and 14 crew members. A special event was held at Islamabad International Airport to mark this return. Aviation Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, PIA CEO Air Vice Marshal Amir Hayat, and Civil Aviation Authority officials attended the ceremony.

Parliamentary Secretary Zeb Jaffar recently said in the National Assembly that PIA has been making profits since March 2024. She shared that the airline is now financially stable and has restarted flights to key European cities, including Paris.

She also spoke about how past negative comments in Parliament had damaged the airline’s image. But with better planning and smart steps, PIA is showing improvement. The Lahore-Paris flight is one of the signs of this change.

PIA is now working with the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and UK aviation groups to strengthen its services. The airline is also having talks with Turkish Airlines. These talks may help offer better travel options to passengers.

All of this is part of PIA’s big plan to grow its service in Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. The goal is to start flights on profitable routes and give passengers better service.

The Lahore-Paris flight shows that PIA is moving in the right direction. It wants to rebuild trust, improve its services, and help Pakistan’s economy.
