Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s first-ever air ambulance service is now operational. The service successfully completed its test flight and is ready to help those in need.
A Successful Test Flight
The provincial government tested the service using an MI-17 helicopter. This helicopter has been modified into a fully equipped air ambulance. Health Advisor Ihtisham Ali, who was on the test flight, confirmed its readiness. The helicopter can now handle emergency medical evacuations with advanced medical support.
Faster Medical Assistance
This initiative is led by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. It aims to provide free air ambulance services across the province. The goal is to ensure that patients in critical conditions receive medical care quickly. Many remote areas lack proper healthcare facilities. This service will bridge that gap by transporting patients to major hospitals faster.
Benefits of an Air Ambulance
Air ambulances can save lives in emergencies. They can reach accident sites or remote areas faster than road ambulances. This service will help in cases like heart attacks, serious injuries, and natural disasters.
The initiative also includes trained medical staff onboard. These professionals can provide life-saving treatment during the flight. Such measures improve survival chances before reaching the hospital.
Future Prospects
The government plans to expand this service. More helicopters may be added to cover larger areas. Collaboration with health institutions is also under discussion. This will ensure better emergency care for the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
