Karachi crime report February 2024 reveals a disturbing increase in street crime. The Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) recorded 36 killings and 1,402 mobile phone snatchings last month. Criminals also stole 3,773 motorcycles and 195 cars. Among these, 549 motorcycles and 36 cars were snatched at gunpoint.
Additionally, the report highlighted four extortion cases and one kidnapping for ransom. However, no bank robberies were recorded in February. Despite police efforts, criminals continued their activities, affecting civilians and law enforcement officers.
Rising Crime Despite Police Efforts
The Karachi crime report February 2024 also noted 1,503 incidents of crime this year. These crimes caused 106 deaths, including military personnel, police officers, engineers, and security guards. Nearly 300 people suffered injuries during robberies and violent encounters.
