Junaid Safdar Set to Get Married Within Sharif Family Circle

Junaid Safdar, the son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, is all set to get married again. The engagement has been arranged within the close-knit Sharif family. Sources say the match has been finalized with the daughter of Usman Javed, who is the son of Mian Javed Shafi, first cousin and longtime confidante of PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif.
The engagement ceremony took place recently at the family residence in Model Town, Lahore. It was a private affair attended by key members of the Sharif family, including Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, and Mian Javed Shafi. Family members confirmed that the rishta was settled about a month and a half ago. The dates for the nikah and engagement ceremony will be finalized soon after mutual discussions.
This marks the second marriage for Junaid Safdar. He was earlier married to Ayesha Saif, daughter of Qatar-based businessman and former NAB chairman Saif-ur-Rehman Khan. The couple got married in 2021 at The Lanesborough hotel in Knightsbridge, London. Their wedding drew massive attention due to Nawaz Sharif’s exile at the time. However, the marriage ended in October 2023. Junaid confirmed the divorce on social media, calling it a private matter.
In the same month, Junaid Safdar returned to Pakistan from London. He now lives in Lahore and has been assisting his mother with her political duties. Known for his academic success, he holds two bachelor’s and two master’s degrees from top UK universities. He graduated in Politics with First Class Honours from Durham University. He also earned degrees from the University of Cambridge, the London School of Economics (LSE), and the University College London (UCL).
Apart from academics, Junaid is a skilled polo player. He has represented several British universities in international competitions and won various tournaments. Among the Sharif family, Junaid Safdar stands out for his strong academic background and love for sports.
Family insiders say both families are excited about the upcoming events. The formal engagement and nikah dates will be shared soon.
