Islamabad political ban remains in effect as authorities reinforce Section 144 to prevent public gatherings and maintain law and order. Officials have warned of strict action against anyone violating the ban. The district administration has confirmed that these measures are necessary to ensure public safety.
Strict Enforcement of Section 144
Authorities have made it clear that unauthorized political gatherings will not be tolerated. A spokesperson for Islamabad’s district administration stated that any violation of Section 144 will result in immediate action.
“No exceptions will be made,” the spokesperson said, urging citizens to follow the law. Officials have advised residents to avoid illegal assemblies to prevent legal consequences. Security forces will remain on high alert to enforce the restrictions.
PTI Shifts Rally from Lahore to Swabi
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had planned a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore but faced a ban from authorities. Lahore’s Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza rejected the request, citing security concerns.
Officials explained that multiple events were scheduled in Lahore on February 8, including:
- A cricket match
- An international speaker conference
- A horse and cattle show
Security personnel were already assigned to these events, leaving limited resources for additional gatherings. To avoid clashes with authorities, PTI decided to hold its rally in Swabi, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, instead.
Islamabad’s Commitment to Public Order
Islamabad political ban under Section 144 will continue to prevent disturbances. Authorities have warned that violators will face legal consequences. Law enforcement agencies remain on high alert to ensure peace and stability.
With political tensions rising, authorities emphasize the importance of following regulations to maintain order in the capital. Citizens are urged to cooperate and avoid participation in unauthorized political activities.
