Pakistan is working hard to grow its halal meat export industry. The goal is to increase trade with Malaysia and help the local economy. This step will not only improve exports but also create more opportunities for farmers and businesses in Pakistan.
Pakistan and Malaysia Strengthen Trade Ties
On Monday, Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain shared the government’s plan to increase halal meat exports. He said talks with Malaysia are already in progress. If all goes well, exports could reach $200 million in five years.
This plan will boost economic relations between the two countries. It will also help Pakistan’s export sector grow faster.
Focus on Quality and Standards
Minister Tanveer assured that Pakistan will meet international standards. The country is ready to provide premium quality halal meat to Malaysia. This commitment shows Pakistan’s aim to be a reliable export partner.
New Business Agreements in Progress
During the recent visit of Malaysia’s Prime Minister, a $200 million halal meat export deal was discussed. Both countries also plan to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Pakistan-Malaysia Business Council (PMBC) and Malaysia-Pakistan Business Council (MPBC). This will support more growth in the halal trade sector.
Broader Cooperation Opportunities
Pakistan and Malaysia also want to work together in technology, energy, trade, agriculture, and investment. This deeper cooperation could benefit both countries in the long term. It may also create more jobs and better trade systems in Pakistan.
Leaders Working Together for Progress
The meeting was attended by Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan and Advisor to the Prime Minister on Industry Haroon Akhtar Khan. Their presence shows the importance of the halal meat export strategy for Pakistan’s economy.
