Hajj Begins Today as Millions of Pilgrims Arrive in Mina

Hajj 2025 Rituals Begin

Hajj 2025 rituals have officially started as millions of Muslims arrive in Mina. Pilgrims, including thousands from Pakistan, will stay in Mina until Thursday morning. During this time, they will pray and remember Allah.

Pilgrims Enter the State of Ihram

Before leaving for Mina, pilgrims wear special white clothes called Ihram. They offer two short prayers called rakat. After that, they head to Mina to continue the journey.

In Mina, pilgrims pray Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha. They spend their time in worship, peace, and reflection. This stop prepares them for the next important step.

The Day of Arafat

On the 9th of Dhul Hijjah, pilgrims leave Mina for Arafat. This is the most important part of Hajj. It is called Waqoof-e-Arafa.

At Arafat, pilgrims stand in prayer and listen to a sermon. They offer Zuhr and Asr prayers together. This moment is deeply spiritual. It is about asking for forgiveness and praying to Allah.

Muzdalifah: Night Under the Sky

After sunset, pilgrims travel to Muzdalifah without praying Maghrib in Arafat. In Muzdalifah, they offer Maghrib and Isha together.

They also collect small pebbles. These will be used the next day in a ritual called Rami. Pilgrims sleep under the open sky, remembering Allah through the night.

Rami and the Sacrifice

On the 10th of Dhul Hijjah, pilgrims return to Mina. They perform Rami, which means throwing pebbles at three walls. These represent Satan.

After this, they offer a sacrifice. Then, men shave or trim their hair. Women cut a small portion of their hair.

Final Rituals in Makkah

Next, pilgrims head back to Makkah. There, they perform Tawaf-e-Ziyarah by circling the Kaaba. After that, they do Sa’i, walking between the hills of Safa and Marwah.

These steps complete the main rituals of Hajj. Pilgrims may stay a few more days to repeat the Rami ritual.
