Ayesha Khan Passes Away

Veteran Pakistani Television Actress Ayesha Khan passes away, leaving behind a legacy that shaped Pakistan’s television history. The veteran actress was found dead in her flat in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area. Police officials said her body appeared to have been lying there for nearly a week, raising concerns about her health and isolation in recent years.

Born on November 22, 1948, Ayesha Khan was known for her powerful roles in classic PTV dramas like Afshan, Uroosa, Shaam Se Pehle, Bandhan, and Family 93. She was also the elder sister of the late actress Khalida Riyasat, another iconic figure in Pakistani television.

According to police surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed, Khan’s remains were moved to the morgue, and signs suggested she had passed several days earlier. “As per the station house officer, she passed away naturally,” said Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Farrukh Raza.

The news that Ayesha Khan passes away shocked her fans and colleagues. Many paid heartfelt tributes on social media. Actor Adnan Siddiqui wrote on Instagram: 

“She was my on-screen mother but brought a compassion reminiscent of a maternal figure, a presence that soothed, grounded and made a space feel more human.” He added, “Ayesha jee wasn’t just an actor; she was an atmosphere. And her absence will be deeply felt.”

Actor Khaled Anam also shared his condolences. “With profound sadness, we share the news of legendary Pakistani actress Ayesha Khan passing away this June 2025,” he wrote. He recalled her performances in Mehndi, Naqab Zan, Bharosa Pyar Tera, and Bisaat e Dil.

HUM TV honored her memory, stating: “May her soul rest in peace. Our deepest condolences to her family and loved ones.”

As Ayesha Khan passes away, the industry bids farewell to a performer who brought depth, dignity, and warmth to every role. Her absence will be felt across generations of Pakistani drama lovers.
