Apple Unveils iPad 2025 With A16 Chip and More Storage

Apple has launched the eleventh-generation iPad (2025) with subtle but useful improvements. The device keeps its familiar design but features a lower-power A16 chip, increased base storage, and Bluetooth 5.3 support.
Design and Display
The iPad (2025) looks almost identical to its 2022 version. It has an 11-inch Liquid Retina IPS LCD with a 60Hz refresh rate. The display is bright and sharp, but it lacks the smoother 120Hz ProMotion technology found in high-end iPads.
The Touch ID sensor remains in the power button. The tablet has a sleek aluminum frame and comes in four colors: Silver, Blue, Pink, and Yellow.
Performance and Software
This iPad runs on a modified A16 chip, originally seen in the iPhone 14 Pro series. The chip has one fewer CPU and GPU core, making it slightly less powerful than its smartphone version.
Apple has not disclosed the RAM capacity. However, since this model does not support Apple Intelligence, it likely has less than 8GB of RAM.
Storage and Connectivity
Apple has doubled the base storage to 128GB, replacing the previous 64GB option. This is a welcome change for users who need more space for apps and media.
Another minor upgrade is Bluetooth 5.3, which improves connectivity with modern accessories.
Camera Quality
The tablet has a dual 12MP camera system. It works well for video calls, scanning documents, and casual photos. Apple has not introduced any significant improvements in this area.
Battery Life and Charging
Apple has not announced any battery changes. Users can expect the same “all-day battery life” as the previous model. The device charges via USB-C, making it compatible with various accessories.
Pricing and Availability
The iPad (2025) starts at $349/€399/£329 for the Wi-Fi model. The cellular version costs $499/€569/£479. Pre-orders are open now, and deliveries start on March 12.
Should You Buy It?
If you own the 2022 model, the upgrades may not be significant enough to justify an upgrade. However, if you have an older iPad, the increased storage and improved connectivity make this a solid choice.
