The students said a college bus driver tricked the girl. He told her that her fees were pending and lured her to the college basement. It was in this isolated area that the girl was allegedly attacked by the security guard. The students also alleged that the victim’s health worsened after the assault. Instead of getting medical help, she was reportedly escorted off campus, with a “dupatta” tried to hide her condition.

The incident spread quickly on social media, and it sparked outrage among the students. Protests were organized outside various campuses of the Punjab Group of Colleges. They demanded an FIR against the security guard involved in the alleged crime. Students have demanded justice. They want the college to hold the guard accountable for the incident. Many students were frustrated. They accused the college of covering up the crime and stifling their efforts to publicize it.

Punjab Education Minister’s Response

Punjab Education Minister, Rana Sikandar Hayat, addressed the protests and assured the students that he would take strict action against anyone who tried to suppress their voices. The students alleged that on the orders of the principal, police assaulted the protesters with batons and rifle butts. Several students showed their bloodstained clothes as evidence of the brutality they faced. According to Rescue 1122, at least twenty-seven students were reportedly injured during the protests. Despite this, the students have not backed down. They continue to demand accountability and transparency in handling the alleged rape case.

Conflicting Reports and Denial from Authorities

At a press conference, DIG Operations Faisal Kamran said the police had checked hospital records and CCTV. They found no proof of the incident. The police also arrested a security guard who had been missing from college for a few days. The police called the case a “rumor.” They warned that action could be taken against those spreading false information under the Cyber Crime Act. Students insist the incident occurred.
