The hospital negligence crisis at DHQ Hospital Pakpattan has shocked many. Between June 16 and June 22, 20 newborns died. This incident sparked outrage and led to a full inquiry.
Deaths Spark Public Outcry
Families of the deceased infants claim the hospital failed them. Many said there was no oxygen and staff did not respond quickly. Their anger is shared across the region. Even more worrying, five babies died on a single day — June 19.
Allegations Against Medical Staff
Out of the 20 babies, 15 were referred from private clinics. Three were born at home. Some were already weak, but parents insist negligence made things worse. The staff is being blamed for not giving proper care.
Investigation Committee Steps In
A team of three experts started an investigation. The Sahiwal Commissioner ordered this after the tragedy. Members came from the Health Department and Sahiwal Teaching Hospital. The report is expected by July 2. It will provide more details and suggest action.
Urgent Need for Medical Reforms
Sadly, this is not the first time a hospital has failed patients. Many public hospitals lack trained staff and medical tools. Oxygen shortages and dirty equipment make things worse. Reforms are needed now more than ever.
Voices Demand Justice
The community is now asking for justice. Citizens want punishments for those found guilty. Many also want the hospital improved so that such a tragedy never happens again.
