WhatsApp Document Scan is now being tested in its latest Android beta update. This new feature lets users scan documents directly using their phone camera without leaving the app. It’s part of version 2.25.19.21, currently available to selected beta testers via the Google Play Store.
New Button for Easy Access
When you try to share a document, a new option called “Scan Document” appears. Once tapped, it opens your camera with a live screen preview. This helps you perfectly align the paper for a high-quality scan.
Automatic or Manual Capture
You can scan documents using two modes. The automatic mode snaps the picture when the paper is visible and aligned. It’s fast and simple. Meanwhile, the manual option lets you adjust the angle and lighting before capturing.
Saves Time and Effort
No need to use other scanning apps now. From ID cards to handwritten notes, scanning and sending documents is much easier. This will help students, professionals, and businesses alike.
Currently in Beta Testing
At this stage, the feature is limited to beta users only. However, if the feedback remains positive, it will likely be rolled out publicly very soon.
Enhancing In-App Experience
This feature supports WhatsApp’s goal to become an all-in-one communication tool. Adding a scanner inside the app makes sharing documents seamless and faster than ever.
What’s Next?
With more features like this, WhatsApp may soon become a strong alternative to dedicated scanner apps like CamScanner and Adobe Scan.
