Karachi Hit by Light Earthquake Tremors for Second Day

Karachi Earthquake

Karachi earthquake tremors have caused concern across the city. According to Chief Meteorologist Amir Haider, several small quakes were felt since yesterday. These tremors came from the Landhi fault area. So far, they have been mild and no damage has been reported.

Why Karachi Feels Tremors

Karachi is near several fault lines. One runs close to Thana Bula Khan. Another is near the Kirthar Range. Although no major earthquake has hit this area in recent history, these faults often cause small tremors.

Landhi Fault Line Activity

The recent activity is linked to the Landhi fault. This fault line is active. It causes light shakes from time to time. Meteorologist Amir Haider said the energy release from this fault could lead to tremors in different parts of the city.

What Experts Are Saying

Experts believe these tremors may continue for one or two more days. However, they are expected to slowly decrease. This kind of seismic behavior is normal in such fault zones. People should stay alert but not panic.

No Major Quake Yet

Karachi has not faced a strong earthquake since 1945. But experts warn that the sea plates near Balochistan could trigger a larger quake or even a tsunami. This is a rare possibility, but not impossible.
