NADRA Issues Warning for CNIC Fraud and Fee Updates for 2025

NADRA issues warning

NADRA issues warning to all citizens about growing threats of CNIC misuse. The National Database and Registration Authority has rolled out new rules for ID card processing and also released an updated fee structure for 2025.

Now, citizens must bring original documents only when visiting NADRA centers. Photocopies are no longer accepted for regular tasks like B-Forms and registration certificates.

NADRA made it clear that using someone else’s CNIC as a reference has no legal status. This change is part of their mission to prevent identity fraud and protect public data.

To make the process easier, NADRA has added clear signs at all centers. These signs explain the new steps in simple words so that visitors can follow them without confusion.

CNIC Photocopy Scam Alert

In its recent advisory, NADRA issues warning again about scams involving CNIC photocopies. Criminals are pretending to be officials. They trick people by offering fake jobs, rewards, or financial help.

These fraudsters collect CNIC numbers and even fingerprints by promising fake prizes. Many citizens have fallen victim to these scams. Their personal data gets used for illegal purposes, including fraud and identity theft.

To stay safe, follow these steps:

  • Bring only original documents.
  • Don’t carry or submit CNIC photocopies unless legally required.
  • Never share CNICs or fingerprints in casual or public settings.
  • Report any suspicious behavior to NADRA or law enforcement.

This is the second time this year NADRA issues warning to raise awareness. The authority wants to make sure every citizen knows the risks and avoids falling into traps.

New CNIC and B-Form Fees – April 2025

NADRA has also updated the fees for Smart CNICs and Child Registration Certificates (B-Forms), starting from April 2025.

Here are the updated charges:

  • Smart CNIC (New or Renewal):
    • Normal: Rs. 750
    • Urgent: Rs. 1,500
    • Executive: Rs. 2,500
  • B-Form (Child Registration Certificate):
    • Regular: Rs. 50
    • Executive: Rs. 500

The B-Form is needed to officially register a newborn. It serves as a child’s first legal identity document.

Thanks to new system upgrades, NADRA now offers faster processing and better service. Citizens can either visit the nearest NADRA center or apply online through the official portal.

NADRA issues warning one more time to encourage timely document renewals. This step ensures accurate identity records and better access to public services.
