The ongoing polio eradication campaign has already protected over 24.7 million children in Pakistan and Afghanistan. This nationwide effort is in its third day and continues to grow stronger each day.
Millions of Children Vaccinated in First 48 Hours
The campaign started on April 21 and will run until April 27. In just two days, millions of children under five have received polio drops. Health teams aim to vaccinate over 20 million more children in the coming days.
Strong Coverage Across Provinces
So far, the results are promising. According to the National Emergency Operations Center (EOC):
Punjab: 56%
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 58%
Sindh: 48%
Balochistan: 54%
Azad Jammu & Kashmir: 66%
Gilgit-Baltistan: 63%
Islamabad: 45%
The figures show steady progress. But the work must continue without delays.
Parents Urged to Cooperate
Officials are asking parents to ensure their children get vaccinated. The vaccine is safe and effective. It protects children from a disease that can cause permanent disability or even death.
Special Helpline for Unvaccinated Children
To help families, the EOC has set up a helpline. If your child missed their polio drops, you can:
Call 1166
Send a WhatsApp message to 0346-7776546
Quick action can make all the difference.
A Final Push Toward Eradication
The EOC and frontline workers are doing all they can. But they can’t do it alone. The success of this campaign depends on community support. Everyone must play a role in ending polio for good.
