WhatsApp Now Allows You to Instantly Translate Messages Without Internet

WhatsApp Message Translation Update

The new WhatsApp message translation feature is now live for Android beta users. It allows people to translate chats without needing internet. This makes communication in different languages easier, faster, and more private.

No Internet Required for Translations

One of the most exciting parts of this update is offline translation. Users can now download language packs. Once downloaded, messages are translated instantly on the device. There’s no need for mobile data or Wi-Fi.

Also, you can install a special pack. This pack helps WhatsApp automatically detect the language in incoming messages. Then, it translates the text right away.

Languages Supported So Far

Currently, five major languages are available:

  • Spanish

  • Arabic

  • Portuguese

  • Hindi

  • Russian

You can activate translation per chat through chat info. Or you can manually translate each message using message options.

How Accurate Is It?

WhatsApp uses on-device translation, not cloud-based tools. So, it may not be as accurate as tools like Google Translate. But there’s a feedback button. This helps users report translation mistakes. Over time, this will make the system better.

Also, since the process stays on your phone, your messages stay private. That means more security for your chats.

Who Can Use It Right Now?

This feature is part of beta version 2.25.12.25. Only a small group of Android users can use it for now. You can check your app settings to see if it’s available to you.

Meta hasn’t confirmed when the feature will be released to everyone. But if feedback is strong, it may happen soon.
